Developer

v0.11.1 – 16th October 2026

Features

  • Added the multi-tenancy Skill, which helped agents keep tenant content and session data separate on platforms serving multiple customers by using tags and tenant-namespaced activity_id values, and identified common filtering mistakes.

Polish

  • Improvement: updated internal libraries to maintain security, stability, and performance.

Archived

v0.11.0 – 9th October 2026

Features

  • Added the get_feedback_link tool and server instructions that directed users to the MCP feedback page to share feedback or report issues.
  • Added the status of the cache, vector database, and embedding provider to the /health-check endpoint and status page, which reported degraded when any of these services were unavailable.
  • Added support for MCP protocol version 2026-07-28, allowing clients that preferred this version to connect without receiving an "Unsupported protocol version" error.
  • Added the lts-upgrade-paths Skill, which helped agents select a target LTS version, plan the upgrade sequence across APIs, and identify breaking changes for each version.
  • Added the generate-and-troubleshoot-request-signatures Skill, which guided agents through generating request signatures using language-specific SDKs and troubleshooting common issues, including mismatched signing and request domains, incorrect consumer keys or secrets, and secrets containing special characters.
  • Added the customise-assessment-ui-regions Skill, which helped agents configure and troubleshoot Items API UI Regions, including repositioning the table of contents, controlling button visibility, and opening dialogs from application code.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where links to reference.learnosity.com returned by the MCP server opened the Help site home page instead of the corresponding article.
  • Fixed a bug where an invalid tool argument caused error messages to repeat the submitted value. Error messages now identified only the argument and the issue.
  • Fixed a bug where the documentation and Skills index resources reported a text/plain MIME type instead of application/json when returning JSON.
  • Fixed a bug where skills_search ranked Skills that only mentioned the search term above Skills with matching IDs, potentially excluding the best match when a low limit was specified.
  • Fixed a bug where images in GitHub documents linked to GitHub web pages instead of image files, preventing MCP clients from displaying them.
  • Fixed a bug where requests to the MCP endpoint with a trailing slash were redirected over HTTP instead of HTTPS.
  • Fixed a bug where an interrupted index update caused documentation search to return only keyword matches, excluding semantic matches for up to 24 hours.
  • Fixed a bug where search_docs_sources returned Question Editor API pages without requiring an off_golden_path_reason because the full name "Question Editor API" was not recognized.

Polish

  • Improvement: updated read_document to preserve images inline in the Markdown body while also listing them in images.
  • Improvement: renamed the help_center documentation source to help_site, requiring tool calls and resource URIs referencing help_center to use help_site instead.
  • Improvement: enabled any server instance to handle requests within an MCP session, eliminating the need for clients to reconnect after "Session not found" errors. Rate limits were also applied per session, giving users behind a shared network address individual allowances within a higher per-address limit.
  • Improvement: redirected browser visits to mcp.learnosity.com to the product page and moved the service status page to /status/, without affecting MCP client connections.

Archived

v0.10.0 – 23rd September 2026

Features

  • Added all Markdown documents from public Learnosity GitHub repositories, including SDK reference guides and changelogs, to the github documentation source, which previously contained only README files.
  • Added the content-migration Skill, which guided agents through migrating content into an Item bank using the Data API, either from another Item bank or from an external platform via QTI.
  • Added the install-and-set-up-the-sdk Skill, which guided agents through installing and configuring the Learnosity SDK for PHP, Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, or .NET to generate signed requests.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where all clients shared a single rate-limit allowance, causing heavy usage by one client to result in rejected requests from other clients.
  • Fixed a bug where server instructions sent to MCP clients incorrectly stated that all tools withheld lower-level API content until a reason was provided, instead of specifying that this restriction applied only to search_docs_sources.

Polish

  • Improvement: updated internal libraries to maintain security, stability, and performance.

Archived

v0.9.0 – 9th September 2026

Polish

  • Improvement: combined keyword and semantic ranking in search_docs_sources to return relevant documentation for longer natural-language questions and partial matches that previously returned no results.

Archived

v0.8.1 – 3rd September 2026

Features

  • Added read-only and non-destructive annotations to all tools, allowing MCP clients to identify operations that did not modify data.
  • Added the Learnosity Help site as a documentation source, allowing agents to search API reference pages, getting-started guides, and tutorials.
  • Added per-client and global request rate limits to maintain service responsiveness. Requests exceeding these limits received a JSON-RPC error and could be retried shortly afterward.
  • Added the Author Guide site, Feedback Aide documentation, Learnosity demos, and public Learnosity GitHub repositories as additional documentation sources.
  • Added daily updates to all documentation sources, allowing agents to access newly published and updated content within 24 hours.
  • Added Skills, step-by-step integration guides that helped agents identify which Learnosity APIs to call, the order in which to call them, how their identifiers were connected, and how to sign each request.
  • Added the golden-path-author-items-reports Skill, which described how to build a complete assessment platform using the Author API, Items API, and Reports API. For searches involving the Assess API, Question Editor API, or Questions API, search_docs_sources recommended this approach first and returned the withheld results after the agent provided an off_golden_path_reason.
  • Added the MCP server (alpha), which gave AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Kiro, and VS Code direct access to Learnosity documentation and integration Skills.
