Understanding the Author Site

What is the Author Site?

A hosted authoring platform, built on top of the Author API, designed to provide an out-of-the-box authoring experience for those who need their own internal platform for assessment content creation.

What does it look like?

If you're a potential client, we'd suggest liaising with your Business Development representative to receive a demo of the Author Site.

If you're a current client, you already have access to the Author Site, and we'd suggest setting up a user via Console and then subsequently logging into Learnosity Author Site. If you're unsure how to do this, check the Console help pages. If you still have an issue here, please reach out to the Learnosity Support team and we can guide you along this journey.

Learnosity Author Site provides a hosted, out-of-the-box platform for:

  • Item Bank browsing
  • New Item creation and tagging
  • Tag management
  • Activity browsing
  • Activity creation

Who is it best suited for?

The Author Site is best suited for:

  • Clients with in-house authoring teams, with a need to get up and running quickly, or no in-house need to build your own authoring platform.

The Author Site is not suited for those with teacher authoring needs, or with authoring needs outside of their in-house or contract teams. For those cases, we'd advise using the Author API.

How can I learn more about it?

Lucky for you, we have an entire guide written about the Author Site! Our sister site, Learnosity Author Guide, is written for Content Creators and Authors by our very own in-house subject matter experts, to guide you through the process of creating top-notch content.
