Our Core Solutions provide an overview of the common use-case patterns our clients commonly build with Learnosity.

These cover the core tenets of building a robust product with Authoring, Assessment and Analytics functionality, built with the Learnosity APIs and hosted platforms, and provide guidance on which APIs work best for certain types of product.

Embedded Authoring & Assessment

Ideal for:

• Online learning platforms,
• Test prep platforms, or
• Diagnostic & benchmark test platforms.

Characteristics:

• Have in-house and potentially teacher-created content,
• Have an in-house content management system with a need to extend that experience, and
• Want to deliver a test or form-based experience -- whether that's fixed form or adaptive.

Hosted authoring, embedded assessment

Ideal for:

• Online learning platforms,
• Test prep platforms, or
• Diagnostic & benchmark test platforms.

Characteristics:

• Have in-house or contract authoring teams,
• Want to leverage an existing authoring platform for assessments, rather than extending their own, and
• Want to deliver a test or form-based experience -- whether that's fixed form or adaptive.

Ideal for:

• Online textbook platforms & textbook companions,
• Instructional learning platforms, or
• Language learning platforms.

Characteristics:

• Have in-house and potentially teacher-created content,
• Have an in-house content management system with a need to extend that experience, and
• Want to deliver formative, blended Learning content, where students encounter questions embedded with learning content.

Hosted authoring, embedded formative learning

Ideal for:

• Online textbook platforms & textbook companions,
• Instructional learning platforms, or
• Language learning platforms.

Characteristics:

• Have in-house or contract authoring teams,
• Want to leverage an existing authoring platform for assessments, rather than extending their own, and
• Want to deliver formative, blended learning content, where students encounter questions embedded with learning content.

Unlike our Core use-cases, these solutions are more specialized and may not be required for every use case. Rather than being an overview of Learnosity's main APIs, they are smaller in scope but aim to tackle one specific use case that some clients run into.

None of these extended solutions are possible without integrating the main APIs, as covered in our core solutions above.

Integration using third-party scoring

Ideal for:

• Clients with very specialized scoring needs, and
• Clients who wish to automatically grade Learnosity's manually graded question types.

Characteristics:

• Have or are willing to develop a unique scoring algorithm to be integrated with Learnosity, and
• Want to take advantage of Learnosity's authoring, rendering and reports, but want at least some of the scoring to use their own technology.

Importing Content to Learnosity

Ideal for:

• Any client who has content created outside of Learnosity.

Characteristics:

• Have item content stored in a way that can be exported,
• Have a team of developers with the ability to convert the items into Learnosity JSON, and
• Wish to take advantage of the Learnosity APIs without having to manually recreate all of their content.

Analytics For Business Intelligence systems

Ideal for:

• Clients with advanced reporting needs,
• Data-centric clients, or
• Clients who have a large number of users.

Characteristics:

• Want to extract real meaning from their assessment results, and
• Have custom reporting needs requiring access to raw data.
